We talk to @whoelsebutalf about his comedy inspirations and memories.

Tell us a bit about yours[alf].

I live in North Devon and I'm a Graphic Designer, Musician and Stand-Up Comedian.

What kind of comedy really tickles you and why?

I really enjoy one-liner comedy and comedy with actual jokes in it. I also enjoy jokes with clever word play and visual stuff.

Tell us about your comedy heroes.

Tim Vine

Difficult Question, there are so many. I really like Tim Vine, Billy Bailey, Milton Jones, Greg Davies, Bo Burnham, Jason Manford and Lee Mack, but there are also some older comics I enjoy watching. I think Tommy Cooper is fantastic, for just making you laugh by just walking on a stage.

What are your favourite comedy shows on TV?

Not Going Out

Not Going Out is my favourite, because its got Messrs Mack & Vine in it and also Katy Wix is amazing in some of the latter episodes, I quite enjoy Would I lie to you and Mock the Week and pretty much everything Graham Linehan has ever produced. His latest works IT Crowd and Count Arthur Strong are simply fantastic.

What are your earliest comedy memories?

Joe Pasquale

I remember being taken to see Joe Pasquale when I was younger, and think who the hell is this guy, he's mental. Then in '97 I was introduced to Father Ted, and it's been a firm favourite ever since.

Who are your favourite Howler users? Why are they your favourite?

I quite like @Traineejohn and @iandsearle, both are very funny and also do jokes on Twitter like I do.

Also @zer0mike is always a nice chap to talk comedy with.

Which of your Howler jokes are you most proud?

"You have to hand it to short people. Especially, if 'It' is on the top shelf" , seems to get a few likes every now and then, and also "The national masturbation Championships was won by me, I beat off some stiff competition!" that's a fairly popular one.

I think my personal favourite is "It's time to admit to the world that I used to have a 3rd Nipple. Feels good to finally get that off my chest".

I've started using that one in my Live set and it usually goes down well.

Whats next? any gigs lined up or happy just playing with material?

At the end of October I'm booked to do the 15 minute middle-spot at a new comedy night in Newquay, and may have another gig or 2 in South Devon or Cornwall before the end of the year. I've also got a Gig booked in Cornwall for February next year in a 200 seat venue, with some great circuit acts which i'm really excited about. Also i've been in contact with a London based promoter about performing there next year.

I do always try to keep coming up with new material so I'll try and do a few more Open Mics to try some stuff out, Exeter has a nice Open Mic at the Phoenix Art Centre and also there's a great little pub in Barnstaple that let me do 10 minutes of new material at their Open Mic, despite the fact everyone else there are acoustic guitarists.
